Welcome to a workshop with Petri with focus on Kindness, Forgiveness & Compassion through the weekend.
Petri focuses on integrating healing and therapy with yoga, meeting student’s individual needs and guiding their progress. Petri’s yoga pose adjustments are gentle, effective, therapeutic and, according to some,almost magical, and originate (besides his own practice and teaching) from his past work as a traditional Finnish folk healer and naturopath. His friendly, relaxed behaviour and intuivite perception give an open, energetic and meditative atmosphere to his classes.
Petri Räisänen (born August 13, 1967) is internationally known and a respected Ashtanga Yoga teacher. Petri started practicing Ashtanga Yoga in 1989 and teaching in 1991. He is a devoted student of his Guru, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and was authorized to teach Astanga Yoga in 2001 by Guruji. Petri is careful to pass on his Guru’s exact teachings.

Thursday 5 pm Ledd Class Full Primary + workshop opening, discussion, chanting ( 5-8 pm apx)
Friday 5-7 pm Kindness, Forgiveness and Compassion workshop – discussion and meditation. Practice of kindness, compassion and forgiveness are powerful forces when they become established to the daily life. Giving selflessly is really the answer for the most of our life issues, also in Ashtanga Yoga practice and teaching.
Saturday 1-4 pm Gentleness and softness in asana adjustments and practice – on how to practise Ashtanga Yoga in a safe way. Astanga Yoga is a safe, effective and beneficial method, which all too often can become a painful, pressure-filled, stressful physical exercise. In this workshop, we will focus on the therapeutical aspects of the practice for the body/mind; namely, how to release tension, stretch the body without pain and keep the mind in a peaceful, but awakened state. Feeling comfortable and meditative during the practice will influence the level of calmness and health for life outside the practice and keep the Yoga in your life all the way to the end of days.
Sunday 12 am-1 pm Closing workshop with discussion & chanting.
